Product Description: This component is a chrome plated air conditioning compressor. It is used to compress Freon for the air conditioning system. It has a double V belt drive and an electric clutch. The pressure is produced by a swash plate inside the compressor. The electric clutch is located between the belt and the drive end of the compressor. When the electric clutch is not engaged, the belt turns the pulley but does not turn the compressor. When the electric clutch is engaged, as the pulley is turned, so is the inside swash plate of the compressor. As this turns, the air compressor is compressing the Freon to produce air conditioning.
