- What is the temperature of the engine under normal conditions?
- Did the operating temperature of the engine change after the problem was noticed?
- Has any work been done on the street rod recently? Did the problem start before or after the work was done?
- Is the oil consumption normal?
- How does the engine respond to acceleration or deceleration?
- Is there excessive blue (oil) or black (rich) smoke from the exhaust
- Does the engine start easily?
- Does the engine surge or hunt at idle, high idle, or full load?
- How many miles are on the street rod?
- What are the normal driving conditions of the street rod?
